Grants Help CO Governments Implement New Technologies

Keep up-to-date on the work that entities are doing with the SIPA Micro-Grant

DENVER, CO, UNITED STATES, June 15, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- In April, the Statewide Internet Portal Authority (SIPA) awarded more than $150,000 in grants to state and local governments across Colorado. Every year, SIPA provides the opportunity for Colorado governments to apply for the Micro-Grant program with a unique technology proposal. This year, over 30 separate entities were awarded their top-ask at the grant ceremony following SIPA’s 8th Annual User Conference in downtown Denver.

“SIPA is passionate about being able to give back to Colorado communities, every year,” said Jack Arrowsmith, SIPA’s Executive Director, “Especially when those communities come to us with exciting and innovative ideas for technology and services specifically to help and engage their residents.” Coming into the second week of June, many of these grant projects are in full swing of implementation, from new websites to online education to digitizing public data. The 2017-2018 SIPA Micro-Grant awardees include: Thunderbird Water and Sanitation District, City of Westminster, City of Grand Junction, Grandview Estates Rural Water Conservation District, City of Yuma, Department of Natural Resources, Department of Law, Town of Moffat, West Custer County Library District, Arriba-Flagler Consolidated School District 20, City of Durango, Colorado Department of Public Safety, Office of Economic Development and International Trade, Mosca-Hooper Conservation District, City of Manitou Springs, Clear Creek Metro Recreation District, City of Woodland Park, Adams State University Alamosa, History Colorado, Town of Wiggins, Highland Rescue Team Ambulance District, Lyons Regional Library District, Department of Personnel and Administration, Department of Regulatory Agencies, Clear Creek County Library District, Lake County, City of Glenwood Springs, Colorado Department of Human Services, Eagle County Public Health and Environment, Town of Bennett, Custer County, and the City of Idaho Springs.
