As communicated on the 14th of October 2017, Banca Popolare di Sondrio is implementing the letter of intent signed with the Fondazione Cassa di Rissparmio di Cento aimed at acquiring its controlling stake in Cassa di Risparmio di Cento. Popolare di Sondrio is at the moment doing all the activities of due diligence and verification. If this phase will be successfully completed, the following closing of the deal will bring an expansion in the territory of Emilia Romagna, developing, in the light of the complementarities in the branch networks, important industrial synergies.

The operation presents good qualitative features and will create value for both parties.

Within the strategy, always reiterated by the Administration, of achieving an autonomous and sustainable growth, Banca Popolare di Sondrio will increase its presence with the opening of new branches in Imperia, La Spezia, Venezia and Milan.

The Banca Popolare di Sondrio banking Group, strong of an increasing profitability and a significant improvement in the quality of credit, will continue, with the support of a broad and loyal shareholders' base, to operate with determination for the economic development of the territories of reference, giving particular attention to families and corporate customers.

It is informed that, among the other things, it is also under way the acquisition of the Representative Office of Shanghai, in the past shared with two other banks of the Gruppo Sintesi 2000. The Office is going to be used by Banca Popolare di Sondrio as a desk for the development of relationships with Chinese counterparties, and as a contact point between Italian companies and Chinese ones.

In the light of what we forementioned, it is therefore not considered, for the time being, the intervention in any other deals in the banking sector.
